Day one Arrive at your bed and breakfast the evening before with views over farmland. Horses stay in a very secure paddock. The first day's 18 mile circular ride follows grass tracks and permissive lanes to visit the village of Terrington. Fields, meadows and woodlands with an abundance of wildlife lead towards Hovingham. Ambitious riders may wish to embark on an extended route through Hovingham and over to a number of small villages on a variety of off-road tracks. Equally, riders who wish a more leisuely ride can do a shorter route. There are fabulous long straight tracks through woodland on good going.
Day two Bridleways over a variety of good terrain lead to a field that provides a magnificent view of Castle Howard and the Great Lake before entering woods with views in the opposite direction towards the North York Moors. Riders can extend the route to visit a pub and return next to the gallops! A grassy bridleway leads closer to Castle Howard to views of the Mausoleum, Pyramid and Temple before returning to B&Bs by road.
