Ashes Farm, Yorkshire Dales

A white horses poses against the White Horse of Kilburn Mares and foals grazing at Thornton Lodge.

Ashes Farm is magnificently located in the Ribble Valley, in the heart of the Yorkshire Three Peaks area, and offers a choice of B&B, a self-catering cottage or two cabins, with a nicely fenced paddock for your horses. There are views of all of the Three Peaks - Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent and Whernside - from the farm, and wherever you go there are more wonderful sights: for instance the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct just a mile along the valley.

There is true hill and moorland riding from here with sections of the Pennine Bridleway and the Dales Way not far away, but also gentler rides such as along the quiet Roman Road from the hamlet of Chapel-le-Dale towards Ingleton. The area is fabulous for experienced riders confident with map-reading - you can get well away from the crowds and experience riding in wonderful open spaces!
