Exploring the fields at Birkdale Farm
Birkdale Farm lies at the heart of a wonderful network of bridleways and lanes in the Howardian Hills National Landscape.

Hidden away down a quiet track near the pretty village of Terrington, the farm offers a spacious barn conversion sleeping up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. The accommodation here is on a self-catering basis, so you can either cook for yourselves or venture out to one of the nearby pubs – there are several good ones within easy reach.

There’s turnout for your horses (paddocks can be divided if necessary), a covered tie-up area, and safe parking for your horse-box.

From here, you can ride out to villages such as Terrington, Welburn and Hovingham and onto the Castle Howard estate, with fantastic views across this beautiful area, including towards the North York Moors.

Owner Frances Standen and her family farm 300 acres, including arable and sheep. They are members of several environmental schemes with the emphasis on ensuring their farming practices are compatible with wildlife and biodiversity.
