Blamire House B&B, Pocklington

Blamire House offers a tranquil stay in the heart of the arable countryside of East Yorkshire. The house dates from the 18th century and is surrounded by lovely gardens and well-fenced paddocks - you can watch your horse happily grazing from your bedroom.

There are gentle rides along quiet lanes and bridleways (no gates!) straight from the paddock, while just a short drive away are the glorious Yorkshire Wolds, with more wonderful hacking.

Blamire House is owned by Janet Cochrane, who runs Ride Yorkshire, and she'll provide you with maps and route directions to help you discover the local rides, and advise on exploring further afield. Guided rides are also possible - please ask about the opportunities.

As a bonus, Blamire is just 3 miles from Rosethorpe Park, where you can hire the Cross-country course, sand arena or show-jumping arena for a reasonable fee or join in one of their regular shows.

Stays here are flexible as well as relaxing. There is one twin room (en-suite) and a single room (with shared bathroom), or you could even camp or sleep in your horsebox. For lunch and evening meals, there are country pubs a short drive away and restaurants in the market towns of Pocklington and Market Weighton - or you could bring a takeaway - there's a separate dining-room for your use.

Please note: we don't have stables, just turnout.
