Blamire House B&B, Pocklington

Blamire House in summer Horses grazing at Blamire House Grassy bridleway near Blamire House
Blamire House offers a tranquil stay in the heart of East Yorkshire countryside. The house dates from the 18th century and is surrounded by gardens and well-fenced paddocks. Your horse will stay in one of the paddocks near our own horses, and you can see them happily grazing from your bedroom.

There are gentle circuits of up to 7 miles along quiet lanes and bridleways (no gates!) straight from the paddock, while just a short drive away are the glorious Yorkshire Wolds, with more wonderful hacking.

Blamire House is owned by Janet Cochrane, who runs Ride Yorkshire. She can provide you with maps and route directions to help you discover the local rides, and advise on exploring further afield. Guided rides are also possible - please ask about the opportunities.

As a bonus, Blamire is just 3 miles from Rosethorpe Park, where you can hire the Cross-country course, sand arena or show-jumping arena, and 4 miles from Port Royal, so it's an excellent option if you're competing there and your horse is happy with just turnout (we don't have stables).

Stays here are flexible as well as relaxing. There is one twin room (en-suite) and a single room (with shared bathroom). For lunch and evening meals, there are country pubs a short drive away and restaurants in the market towns of Pocklington and Market Weighton, or you could bring a takeaway - there's a separate dining-room for your use.
