Bill Tait has installed new mounting blocks for riders at an important river crossing
Bill Tait, of Ride Yorkshire and the Ryedale Bridleways Group, has built and fitted two mounting blocks at a narrow bridge across the River Rye between Salton and East Ness, in the Vale of Pickering (grid ref. SE 707791). This was done by kind permission of the two landowners, Richard Murray Wells and Billy Bailey, who ‘our Bill’ negotiated with to make sure they were happy with the design and location of the blocks. It’s a brilliant bridleway and now you can mount on either side of the bridge after opening and closing the gates at each end.
