Boltby Trekking Centre
Based at a working farm, Boltby Trekking Centre is on the western edge of the North York Moors National Park, high in the hills above Thirsk and in the pretty village of Boltby, with its stone-built houses.
It offers a superb range of trekking experiences from half-hour ‘taster’ rides for novice hackers to summer-time picnic rides and 2-3 day trail-rides where you stay at a different venue each night. From here, you ride through forests and farmland and across moorland, often with panoramic views across the hills and valleys.
Owner Sheila Ashby knows her horses very well since they’re mostly home-bred, and makes sure they are well suited to their riders.
This is an excellent centre for rides amidst wonderful scenery.
