Arriving at Easterside Farm after a day's ride Fabulous view across Ryedale Arriving at Rievaulx Abbey
Sarah and Alan Wood provide a warm welcome at Easterside Farm, with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The farm is on the western side of the North York Moors National Park and is within the International Dark Skies Reserve, meaning you can enjoy the night skies full of stars - a rare sight nowadays!

Your horses graze in fields close to the farmhouse - sometimes sharing them with sheep! - and there is excellent riding over a variety of terrain in every direction. For instance you can easily hack to the atmospheric Rievaulx Abbey from here or across moorland.

Easterside Farm is one of the recommended stops for the equestrian version of the St. Aelred's Pilgrim Trail, which visits villages and churches in Upper Ryedale. From here, you can do circular or linear rides covering most of the churches.

The shops and restaurants of the thriving market town of Helmsley are just a few miles away, while closer at hand is the picturesque village of Hawnby, with its well-known pub and tea-rooms.
