Red House Farm, Glaisdale, North York Moors
One of the most historic properties on our website, Red House Farm offers both B&B in a farmhouse dating back to the 1600s, and self-catering cottages. Owners Sandra and Tom Spashett have created a charming place to stay by converting and fitting out the rooms with wonderful taste, with furnishings chosen to complement the original beams, flag-stones and shutters.
This an ideal place to unwind, as within the farmhouse is a beautiful indoor swimming-pool and a sophisticated gym, should you have any energy left after riding! For even more 'deep relaxation', a local practitioner is available to come in to offer spa treatments such as manicures, pedicures and massages. The variety of options for activities and accommodation make this an ideal place for larger groups as well as a couple of friends holidaying together.
There are different paddocks available for your horses, and a barn occupied in winter by Tom's herd of English Longhorn cattle can be used for horse accommodation in summer.
Red House is a short walk from the village of Glaisdale, which has a shop and the Arncliffe Arms pub, and has direct access onto bridleways across the pastures and moorland of the North York Moors National Park.
Glaisdale is a few miles inland from the popular town of Whitby, so there's plenty to do in addition to riding!
