Rawlinshaw Farm provides home-from-home accommodation for both humans and horses, and sits on an amazing network of bridleways including the Pennine Bridleway - it's also within riding distance of the popular Settle Loop. The bridleway network starts right on the doorstep – literally next to the field your horses graze in!
Horses have been a part of Rawlinshaw since they first helped farm the land for the current owner’s great-grandparents. This evolved into recreation and breeding, then into a trekking centre for over 20 years, finally diversifying into livery and the horse & rider accommodation you can now experience.
Owner Sam Hird says: “Rest assured that horses are in our blood, and we love sharing our knowledge of local riding with guests - who often become friends and are welcomed back year after year”.
The Cottage is a self-contained part of the beautiful 400-year-old farmhouse. The bedroom can be set up as either a double or twin, with ensuite shower room, and there’s a lounge with a large, comfortable sofa-bed, as well as a kitchen, conservatory and private garden - all within a few strides of your horse.
Facilities for your horse are very flexible – either an entire field for mixed grazing or a rotated pen system for ponies needing limited grazing, as well as indoor stables/pens. There is a locked, heated tack-room, outdoor toilet, wash facilities and indoor tack-up area, and an outdoor school.
As well as the great riding on your doorstep, you are a short walk from a Pizza Restaurant and the famous Courtyard Dairy, just across the road – no need for the car! The farm is directly accessed from the A65, so there are no narrow difficult winding roads to deal with when bringing your box.
Camping and horsebox parking in the field with your horse is also available.
Sam and her family can help with maps and route guides, advice and suggestions. They may even be available to join you if you would like some company – but the main thing - says Sam - is to "ENJOY!”
